The Council is seeking a Digital Officer to join its enthusiastic ICT team. The role involves identifying and implementing system data improvements. You will work with Service areas to ensure the data held within systems is secure through correct classification and application of permissions/retention policies.
This is an interesting and varied role in which you will develop and support effective system data management. You will require strong technical skills to support our migration to Office 365, assisting service areas in migrating relevant content from network drives into OneDrive/ Sharepoint online and ensuring GDPR compliance. You will perform business process improvements, so data and web and internal digital content is shared and stored using the most appropriate medium.
The role will include assisting service areas in managing the data held in our statutory systems, so the role is much more than just Sharepoint! You’ll possess great stakeholder management and communication skills to effectively champion effective data management throughout the organisation.
Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is a small authority set in the heart of Surrey and within easy reach of London and the M25. We are performing an ambitious IT transformation programme and although small in size our ambitions couldn’t be greater. We take pride in our progressive approach to the development and delivery of public services and are deeply committed to continuous improvement and great customer service across all our activities.
We take pride in what a great council this is to work for. We have a “One Team” approach in which everyone pulls together to make things happen. You will find people throughout the organisation are approachable, friendly and supportive. We have a deep-rooted commitment to developing our people and you will have ample opportunity to develop your skill set further.
In return you will benefit from a competitive salary, 24 days annual leave (rising to 29 days after 5 years service), entitlement to join the local government pension scheme, non-contributory life assurance, subsidised gym membership and heavily subsidised car parking.
It is anticipated that this post will have access to the secure Public Service Network (PSN) and therefore is subject to the Basic Security check with the Disclosure Service (DBS).
